Catering Trade Shows
This week I have visited a couple of food and catering shows to learn more about the food and hospitality business. It was really interesting to meet people involved in the industry, creating and serving delicious and beautiful food, and exciting to see so many talented young chefs competing in Bournemouth.
I was really excited to discover the interesting taste of black garlic, as well as popping fruit and tea bubbles from Taiwan, and am looking forward to seeing them in the shops soon. It was also nice to see that local food producers were well represented alongside international brands.
I met a lot of food suppliers and people involved in the Industry all displaying a wide variety of marketing material. Much of it was excellent of course, but the number of businesses using poor photography was surprising. One company was even using an i-phone picture on their banners, which did nothing to enhance what was otherwise an exciting brand.
Poor images can damage a brand and put potential customers off as they may think that the product is unprofessional or maybe even unsafe. Customer service as well as image and brand are essential for building interest and trust in your customer base, and will prove to be a good investment in the long term.
